This Enoch, whose flesh was turned to flame, his veins to fire, his eye-lashes to flashes of lightning, his eye-balls to flaming torches, and whom God placed on a throne next to the throne of glory, received after this heavenly transformation the name Metatron.

“The Revelation Of Metatron” is the fifth official album of the Armenian dark ambient project Aram 17.This album is the final part of Enochian trilogy which is concentrated on the third Book Of Enoch. Other names for the Third Book Of Enoch include 3 Enoch, The Book of the Palaces, The Book of Rabbi Ishmael the High Priest and The Revelation of Metatron.

The main themes running through the Third Book Of Enoch are the ascension of Enoch into Heaven and his transformation into the angel Metatron. Modern scholars describe the book as pseudepigraphal, as it says it is written by "Rabbi Ishmael" who became a "high priest" after visions of ascension to Heaven. 3 Enoch contains a number of Greek and Latin words. The book, unlike 1 Enoch, appears to have been originally written in Hebrew. There are a number of indications suggesting that the writers of 3 Enoch had knowledge of, and most likely read, 1 Enoch.

❤️My original plan was to go through and buy individual tracks like I do with most compilation albums, but honestly there are just so many good ones that I wound up buying the whole thing. More than simple drones (though there are plenty of those, too), this album collects many of the best and most innovative dark ambient artists in one place, including many who are new to me.
